During this “show” there are usually 2 people cooking their delicious favourite recipes which they post for us after the show. You get to think you know the regulars as neighbors and maybe family. These are the sources of the wines we proudly celebrate in the Wine and Dine Show. First of all, the Napa Valley is Wine Disneyland, while people say that Sonoma Valley is a well known wine region. Napa Valley is all wine all the time and Sonoma Valley is wine all the time.
Therefore, just to explain, that the primary difference is that Napa Valley does the winemaking and grape growing work with an eye equally trained on appealing to visitors. And conversely, Sonoma Valley’s does winemaking and grape growing but gives only a wink at tourism. We recognize that there’s no question that Napa and Sonoma are two of the most beloved wine destinations in the world. They are famous for producing some of the most coveted wines available. In addition, we market bottles of wine exclusively, that is with our own labels, that you can’t get elsewhere. Interesting Story During our Wine and Dine
Shannon, a wonderful woman who is a part of our Community of professional marketers in this business, told us a real story, during one of our Wednesdays, that is of interest. Also, very touching. She is a great orator and told this beautifully and sincerely.
Shannon is a nurse who works in a Detroit, Michigan hospital. During the height of Covid in March and April (2020), she and and the rest of the staff were over worked and stressed caring for the sick. Also, they were living and sleeping at the hospital. At one time there was a shortage of food being delivered. Sleeping arrangements were difficult as well and they were all exhausted.
Shannon was seen disappearing each Wednesday at 8:30 pm until about 10 pm. Some other nurses saw this and were asking where she went. When she told them she was watching our Wine and Dine Show for a break from the reality they were in they started watching with her. Eventually all 3 floors at the hospital were catching our show faithfully each Wednesday. Doctors were insisting on being woken not to miss the entertainment. During the show, they were doing cheers with paper cups and water. Incredibly, the Wine and Dine show, unknowing to us, was buoying the sprits of the whole hospital medical staff when they needed it most. It kept their spirits lifted during a tough period.
This story touched all of us through our virtual contact. You never know the affect of anything you do; how it will affect others. Therefore, we can never take our Wednesday fun night for granted again.

Tastes of Wine
Wine taste is dominated by a combination of sugar and acids, but most of all by tannins. Tannins are phenolic compounds found in the stems, seeds and skin of red or black grapes. This is why younger wines taste more bitter because of a surplus of tannins. Tannins react and combine with your saliva to make the mouth feel dry and chalky. It’s similar to eating an unripe fruit or a green banana.
The cheaper wines you buy in the store are made from recipes that keep the flavour of that brand of wine constant. That is not real wine. Wine properly made and aged tastes different year-to-year. This is due to dozens of factors including the quality of the grapes and the annual variation in climate.
